PEB STEEL BUILDINGS – Running for Children |
 Hanoi – 22nd November 2009 – As one of our traditional activities at PEB Steel Buildings Vietnam, approximately 20 members of Hanoi Branch happily participated in the “Hanoi Run for Children 2009” charity event at Thien Quang Lake, Hanoi City. PEB Steel Buildings was honored to take on a Silver Sponsorship role for this event, organized by the Embassy of Canada, CanCham Hanoi, and The Vietnam-Canada Friendship Association with the goal to support sick children from poor families at the Hanoi Heart Hospital, the National Hospital of Pediatrics and Heart Beat Vietnam.
Before the run, PEB staff gathered early in front of Reunification Park with excited spirits. In an expression of empathy and support toward less fortunate children PEB Steel Buildings’ members eagerly ran two rounds around Thien Quang Lake. “Each minute joining in the event was so meaningful that PEB Hanoi staffs are honored to be part of charity events and feel very motivated to attend and support other upcoming charity events,” said Ms. Trang – PEB Hanoi Marketing Manager and event attendee.
Two weeks after the Hanoi Run for Children 2009 event, on 6th December, PEB Steel Buildings Ho Chi Minh Branch with 200 participants will also join the Terry Fox Run – annual marathon of hope in HCMC. PEB Steel Buildings Ho Chi Minh Office will offer a VND 20,000,000 donation and a strong sporting attitude to help the fight against cancer.
Mr. Sami Nour Kteily , General Director of PEB Steel Buildings and current President of CanCham Vietnam, says: “We have strongly supported the Terry Fox Run and Hanoi Run for Children for several years. These charity events have a real impact in Vietnam to help less fortunate children as well as raise money to help with Cancer Research in Vietnam. PEB Steel Buildings is very proud and honored to be a part of these events. We have a solid commitment to Vietnam and the local community’s sustainable development.”
